Signs, signs everywhere there’s signs!   I sang to myself as I was praying at Planned Parenthood last Tuesday.  I was looking across the street at Lincoln right to life’s new pro life Center.  "Choose life!"  "Pray to end abortion!"  Do this, don't do that, can't you read the signs?

The chorus from The song, “signs” from the 1970s  was ringing in my ears.   what are the rest of the lyrics to the song, “signs“?  I googled the lyrics to “signs.”   I didn’t know the band, Tesla had a more explicit version of "signs" released in 1990.   We were planning to see Tesla in concert that Labor Day Sunday, September 2. Our friend, Russ and his band, Street Legal,  were the opening band for Tesla and Foreigner that day.  

 I looked towards Planned Parenthood and read the sign , “No trespassing, violators will be prosecuted."

And the sign says, "Anybody caught trespassing will be shot on sight!"

So I jumped the fence and I yelled at the house, "Hey! What gives you the right?"

To put up a fence And keep me out 

Or to keep Mother Nature in?

If God was here He'd tell it to your face, "Man You're some kind of sinner!"

One may not consider a rock concert "church" but that labor day Sunday concert at Norfolk was just what my soul needed.  There was fellowship with friends, soul searching music, a majestic sunset and a rainbow!  Surely a "sign" from God

And the sign says "Everybody welcome Come in Kneel down and pray"

But then they passed around a plate at the end of it all

And I didn't have a penny to pay

So I got me a pen and paper And I made up my own little sign

I said Thank you Lord for thinking about me I'm alive and doing fine

It was 30 years ago September 1 that I survived a botched abortion at a Des Moines Planned Parenthood.  Yes, thank you Lord for thinking about me I'm alive and doing fine.
